Call for Vendors: City of Craft in Toronto, Ontario

Posted on: August 24th, 2009 by Kellbot 1 Comment

It’s hard (and perhaps less than desirable) in this toasty sunshine to cast our minds ahead to wintertime, but we’ve got a good reason for you to do so:

If you are a maker of handmade, original, community oriented and/or locally-made goods, you are encouraged to apply.

This annual craftstravangaza (now in it’s third year) is a very well-attended juried craft show which features dynamic programming such as free workshops, installations, interactive activities, and collaboration with neighborhood shops and galleries. We have extended the show to two days this year in order to reach a wider audience and connect vendors with more customers.

Dates:

December 12 & 13, 2009
Saturday NOON-7:00pm
Sunday NOON-5:00pm

Location:

The Theatre Centre
1087 Queen Street West, Downstairs
Toronto, ON

Application Deadline: August 31, 2009

For more info and to submit your application, please head over to the city of craft website:http://cityofcraft.com/2009/cityofcraft

powerhousecolor

Calling all artisans, crafters and purveyors of cool, artsy-type things:

The annual Powerhouse Arts District Neighborhood Association’s barbeque and crafts fair is officially on like Donkey Kong. It’s going to have all the fine arts, nifty crafts, live music, cheap beer and block-partying good times of last year, but we’re adding a bunch more vendor spaces and tentatively renaming it the POWERHOUSE ARTS FESTIVAL, which is infinitely superior according to a local metal sculptor of some renown who shall remain nameless. So if you’ve got some kind of art or craft or clothing or accessory to sell and you’re not doing anything on SEPTEMBER 12 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., mark it on your calendar and wait for more info on how to apply to be a vendor. For now, here’s some useful info in a handy-dandy list format:

WHAT: The Powerhouse Arts Festival

WHERE: 1st Street b/w Marin and Provost, Jersey City

WHEN: Saturday, September 12th, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

WHY: Because it’s awesome. Also: There will be inexpensive domestic lagers.

WHO: A bunch of local artisans. You, maybe. Definitely Chris and Kirk Bray.

HOW MUCH: 10’ x 10’ spaces starting at $50.

Email Jessica with questions.  We’ll follow up with more info as soon as we have it.

It’s another Metro Market at Metro Space Gallery!

metrospaceWhat we are looking for:
Talented folks who want to show it off for two days!
1st Friday, June 5th & Sunday, June 7th

This is a juried market, and a committee of folks will hand pick a great range of different wares to make sure there is a wide variety of nice things to see. This is a huge opportunity for you to get your goods in front of the masses. Last year they estimated over 7,500 people attended the “Broad Appetit” event and the weather wasn’t even that great! If you call 2,500 people a pretty good turn out, Friday the 5th will not disappoint you either.

Where:

Metro Space Gallery
119 West Broad Street
Richmond, VA 23220
(804)643-7125

When:
1st Friday, June 5th, 2009 (6:00pm – 10:30pm) and Sunday, June 7th, 2009 (12:00pm-5:00pm) during the “Broad Appetit” when Broad Street will be closed to all street traffic – except our favorite kind – foot traffic!

Why:
The last couple of markets have been a great success! This Market helps to support the efforts of True Love Press in its journey to purchase silk screen equipment, lumber and storage components for Richmond’s only community printmaking cooperative.

How:

1. DEADLINE for submissions: Monday May 27th. There is a flat fee of $50 for the weekend, whether you are here one day or both.

2. Please send a couple of images to : heykateguesswhat [!at] gmail.com
(if you cannot get us an image, you will not be considered)

3. Be sure to include the words: JUNE MARKET VENDOR in the subject line

4. We will send a list of accepted vendors out on Thursday May 30th, 2009 along with all the special directions with set up and break down times and such. We will be allowing early drop off during the week to make it especially easy on our selected vendors.

Call for Vendors: Red Rabbit in Arcadia, CA

Posted on: April 15th, 2009 by Kellbot No Comments

Carmen let us know about this call for vendors in Arcadia, CA! Send your calls for vendors to blog@indiecraftshows.com

Red Rabbit was started by a group of friends, all artists and artisans, who would get together regularly for raucous lunches to discuss all things art and craft related.

After the success of the first show held last December at the Descanso Gardens in La Cañada Flintridge, we’ve decided to hold the next edition of the Market at the wonderful 127-acre Los Angeles Arboretum in Arcadia on Sunday July 19th.

This Arts & Crafts Market will feature 50 local Southern California Artists and Crafters.  Included will be unique works in glass, ceramics, jewelry, fiber arts, metal, mixed media and other handmade items.  The emphasis of this show is on handmade pieces – everything from fine art & fine craft to diy indie work.  We’re striving for a varied mix of items so we will continue to accept applications until each of the categories fills up.  We’re also planning to have kids craft workshops and demos.

Set up will be from 8:30 to 9:30 am with the show running from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm.  This is an indoor event in a hall nestled in the beautiful gardens.  Exhibit fee is  $75 with an additional fee of 15% of sales as required by the Arboretum.  We will provide a 8′ x 2 1/2′ table with two chairs and electricity is available.    Please  check out our website for more details and an application.     http://redrabbitworkshop.com
