Calling all artisans, crafters and purveyors of cool, artsy-type things:

The annual Powerhouse Arts District Neighborhood Association’s barbeque and crafts fair is officially on like Donkey Kong. It’s going to have all the fine arts, nifty crafts, live music, cheap beer and block-partying good times of last year, but we’re adding a bunch more vendor spaces and tentatively renaming it the POWERHOUSE ARTS FESTIVAL, which is infinitely superior according to a local metal sculptor of some renown who shall remain nameless. So if you’ve got some kind of art or craft or clothing or accessory to sell and you’re not doing anything on SEPTEMBER 12 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., mark it on your calendar and wait for more info on how to apply to be a vendor. For now, here’s some useful info in a handy-dandy list format:

WHAT: The Powerhouse Arts Festival

WHERE: 1^st Street b/w Marin and Provost, Jersey City

WHEN: Saturday, September 12^th, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

WHY: Because it’s awesome. Also: There will be inexpensive domestic lagers.

WHO: A bunch of local artisans. You, maybe. Definitely Chris and Kirk Bray.

HOW MUCH: 10’ x 10’ spaces starting at $50.

Art Attack! Alternacraft Festival

Update: Art Attack! has been moved forward one week, and is now going to be on April 26

Luca from the Jersey City Craft Mafia let us know about an upcoming show in Jersey City, NJ, Art Attack! A portion of the proceeds from the show will go to the American Cancer Society. The show is on April 26, and vendor applications are due March 16.

+ April 26, 2009 from 1pm-6pm
+ Indoor vending space in an enclosed, sun-drenched room at Club H
+ Vegan cupcake decorating table, live performances, and music
+ Free one day gym pass to Club H
+ A percentage of the admission fee will benefit the American Cancer Society

Application Info:
+ Tables starting at $50
+ Application fee of $10, amount to be applied to table fee in the event of acceptance and to be partially refunded if application is declined
+ This is juried, so bring your game
+ We are accepting between 18-25 vendors this time around
